This month, I’ve been decluttering areas of the house. It started as a 15-minute daily declutter, however, that wasn’t sustainable. Instead, I plan to declutter each deep cleaning zone once a week. I’ve sort of stuck to that goal which means I need to make it a regular part of my zone cleaning.
What is zone cleaning? It’s decluttering, cleaning, and organizing different areas of the house with one area per week per the FlyLady. I learned about the FlyLady many, many years ago. I was not in a position of CHAOS (Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome), but I had 5 kids. Using the zone cleaning system helped me feel like things were manageable with my family of 7. Even though I only have 2 kids at home now plus 2 dogs, I continue to find value in the FlyLady zone cleaning.
