For my second year of gardening here in VA, I decided to frugally grow my plants from seeds. This does mean an upfront investment in equipment which I expect we will use for many years.

I found this greenhouse set up on Amazon. I started with 2 inside and recently purchased this one to harden off seedlings outside. The inside ones have lights, bought separately.

My husband put a temperature sensor inside the greenhouse and we zipped the cover closed to keep the air warmer inside.

Unfortunately, we had a mishap Thursday night. Despite the bricks I placed at the bottom, the wind was too much for the greenhouse. We rescued the plants as best we could in the dark.
For my 4-inch pots, I primarily used plastic pots I found on Amazon. I also used pots I saved from previous years.

I set the greenhouse back up again yesterday, and feel optimistic. The plants look pretty good. I think they’ll recover.
