Our inside project for Memorial Day weekend was finishing the breakfast room. Once we had painted the walls, I was lax about painting the molding. It’s a lot of molding. A lot of tedious painting. I was struggling until my hubby offered to work with me to finish the project.

I love the contrast between the green paint and the bright white molding. The old cream color made the green seem dated.
Details: I have single toggle switches on order from Amazon. Eventually, I will replace the carpet with something a bit more geometric, like a Turkish rug, but infinitely cheaper.

I am going to replace the overhead light sooner rather than later. I’m not fond of the brass look. I’m leaning toward a chandelier since I’d like to find something sparkly and a little different.
Unfortunately, my husband wasn’t able to reinstall the curtain rod on the window which is okay since I didn’t like it anyway. I have a new brushed nickel curtain coming from Amazon for under $40.

I’m considering updating the dresser. It used to be in my daughter’s room and had a changing table top. It’s solid wood with good bones. For now, I’m going to switch out the drawer pulls.
This week, I will finish moving everything back into place. Next weekend, I’ll ask my husband to hang the mirror and pictures.
