happy first day of spring!

This may be the only time I see a blooming tulip in my yard. My youngest son and I found these sprouted tulip bulbs at the local Home Depot. I decided to plant them, spray them with deer repellent, and hope for the best.

This is the second year with our new Virginia landscape. The soil desperately needs work. I’m focusing my efforts on adding leaf compost, compost, and wood chips to the clay soil. I will not be adding perennials until next year.
