Today, we hiked McAfee’s Knob, one of the most photographed points on the Appalachian Trail. My husband and I decided to take advantage of the many hikes around our new home as a way to spend time together. There’s something about being outdoors on the trail with no phones, just nature.
The hike is about 8 miles round trip. While we brought water, we made the mistake of not bringing snacks. We also decided to bring a small first aid kit after seeing another hiker with a cut on his knee. I was happy the hike was on a gradual incline rather than straight up the mountain.
