I searched through my photos to find a good before-shot of our breakfast room. I remember taking a bunch of photos of the different wallpapers in our home, but I can’t find them! So, I’m using a photo that just barely shows the watercolor style of wallpaper that was on the walls of the breakfast room along with an amazing cute Berner.

Below the chair rail is this yellow beige that was used where wallpaper was not used. In case you’re wondering, I don’t like the beige.

This weekend, we wiped the glue residue off the walls. I used a solution of hot water and vinegar which worked well. The next day, my husband started patching the walls. For some reason, these walls had more damage after the wallpaper removal, including the layer of primer peeling in the corners.

Once the walls are patched, my husband will roll on 2 coats of oil-based primer which should seal in any remaining glue residue. Then, I’ll paint the top and bottom Sherwin Williams Cosmos. Eventually, I will paint the molding high gloss white to make it pop more. I think I may do something decorative below the chair rail, but for now, I just want to remove the wallpaper and repaint the room in a color I like.
